Our Mission

MOUNT HERMON BAPTIST CHURCH exists:

To share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and in deed with thousands of residents in the city of Philadelphia and the surrounding areas.

To meet the needs of Christians by providing a place for growth, fellowship, and an opportunity to serve.

To meet the spiritual and emotional needs of our community and direct them to Christ and strongly encourage an intimate relationship with Him.

1. Outreach. With open arms we welcome people regardless of age, race, sex, class, and nationality, with the hope that people will welcome Christ into their lives.

2. Spiritual growth. We believe that Christ’s followers should manifest faithfulness to Him and sincere desire for perpetual growth.

3. Multigenerational congregants. We believe that we are a church for the young, old and in between.

4. Caring community. We believe that loving relationships should permeate every aspect of church life and that change often happens best in small groups where God’s love is prevalent.

5. Reverent and relevant worship. We believe that the worship of a limitless God should not be limited to categories. Instead, we express the vastness of God with a diversity of worship styles and unrestrained praise seamlessly woven together.
